Novo Coffee was founded in 2002 by Jake, Joe, and Herb Brodsky with the mission to connect great coffee producers with coffee consumers. Twenty years, three cafes, and a number of wholesale partners later, we’re still working towards that goal. Novo Coffee is relationship-focused: we seek to build ongoing, meaningful partnerships with producers and coffee farmers. By cultivating these relationships, we can purchase from the same farms year after year, helping to improve farmers’ pricing and enhancing the coffee quality.
At Novo, we strive for quality and transparency in our efforts to bring coffee to the public. We are committed to purchasing the best coffees we can find from around the world. We roast coffees on our Loring air-roaster—one of the greenest roasters on the market today—and taste our coffees weekly, continuously calibrating and reevaluating our roast recipes to guarantee cup quality. We roast to order and purchase our green coffee seasonally, ensuring our roasted coffee is the freshest it can be. We believe coffee is more than a commodity. At Novo, we strive for constant improvement and growth as a company while also connecting people on the producing end with people on the consuming end. In other words: “Get Closer.”
